I chose to be an educator because since I was a child I felt comfortable with teaching or helping others. I grew up and at school I had some teachers I remember but not because they were good at what they did, on the contrary I could feel they did not enjoy the teaching experience, and I wanted to change that, to avoid other people had the same bad experience I had with them. Besides, being an educator is a huge responsibility because we transform society, we shape people's minds, we oversee creating realities and dreams in human beings. We should be considered heroes!
BEEING AND EDUCATOR
What do you like the most about your profession?
What I enjoy about my profession is that even if I get old physically, I stay young mentally. I am in contact with young people every day, that means that every day I learn bunches of things from others. Besides, I am seen as a guide, a wise person, someone who can change people’s reality or motivate them to change it by themselves.
What is the greatest satisfaction you have had as a teacher?
I have had some great experiences working as a teacher, but I must say that the greatest satisfaction I had, and I have, is when students take the time to thank me for being their teacher. That makes me feel that I have succeed not just in my job but also as human being because they enjoyed their learning experience, they felt comfortable, and developed useful skills that make them better in their areas all of that through my classes, which makes me realize that I could do what I wanted, to change bad learning experiences into good ones, to make people fell in love with languages and to continue being curious about them.

In your opinion: What is the sense of being an English teacher?
There are various answers to this question, but I will mention what I have discovered while teaching English. The sense is not to make people learn the language, that could be just one of the results of the learning experience in my classes. To me, the main idea about being English teacher is to make people can develop the ability to analyze and criticize their realities through the second language. To make them curious about knowledge, to make them re discover our own culture taking English language as an excuse. That is my point of view, I consider that in any area of knowledge, teachers should aim practices to different levels and not just to stay in conformity with giving contents, topics, subjects, or whatnot.
